Our community’s charism (specific call) is to be “at the service of the New Evangelisation”. Whether through forming Parish ministries, sharing our testimonies, serving on Parish teams, or delivering workshops in schools we always enjoy sharing the Lord’s unique call with others!
While any young person is welcome to join Koinonia Youth (our ongoing youth ministry), we facilitate short-term programmes such as Youth Alpha or GIFT. We also support Parish youth volunteers through sharing our experience and training
We’ve guided hundreds of young people in our junior Joshua retreat day, creatively exploring the core elements of courage, prayer, the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit and call. It has been a great privilege to get to know these young people from the Glens, to Wexford, to Cork!
We’ve supported local schools by delivering workshops on things like prayer, call and study workshops on Acts of the Apostles. Our youth team is gifted in a broad range of areas so if you have an idea give us a shout!
We’re blessed with having a gifted worship team, and we’ve been invited to lead pastoral outreach through worship-room style evenings. As part of a global community, we’ve also had the privilege of hosting worship concert evenings with our community band Shout:Koinonia!
It’s our privilege to annually participate in ensuring that the high feasts of the Church year are celebrated well. Perhaps most impactful has been our involvement in the Holy Week liturgies, with the creation of the empty tomb in Glenravel parish
Consecrated members of the community work closely with organisations like Down and Connor’s Living Church Office and Youth Link (the Inter-Church youth work organisation). One of our brothers actively collaborates with the Redemptorist’s Preached Word project and teaches in Systematic Theology and Youth Ministry for Moorlands College.
Working on behalf of the Braid Parish Trust, our members have worked to developed a fully equipped barista-style coffee bar which opened as a space for people who may feel lonely and isolated to be in a warm and comfortable environment. The funding also refurbished the whole building, so if you would like to arrange a meeting with coffee facilities please get in touch!
