Koinonia John the Baptist belongs to a worldwide community in the Catholic Church. We were founded in Camparmò, a small abandoned townland in North Italy, and now we have communities of lay and consecrated people on all five continents. Here is that story!

In 2001, Siloam (a group in Down and Connor committed to evangelisation), prayerfully discerned and formally became Koinonia John the Baptist Belfast. Here is our story in this place!

With the welcome of Bishop Treanor and support from Bishop McKeown, Koinonia established a community of Consecrated Life on the slopes of Slemish. Here are our stories!

We are a community ‘at the service of the new evangelisation’. This is our primary ministry, and our most fundamental method is through our members’ Houses of Prayer! This is a time each week for small groups to gather, to pray, to be nourished by the Good News of Jesus and to have some tea and a chat. 

Prayer using the Word of God, and in the power of the Holy Spirit, is our DNA! Our members commit themselves to an hour of prayer each day, as well as gathering together for community prayer. If you have a prayer intention please let us know! Or join us at Jesus Heals each month!

Youth Ministry is key to our presence here in Ireland. Koinonia Youth is a space for young people of all ages to come together for fun and friendship in an atmosphere of faith. It’s a space where young people can ask big questions, and begin to walk with Jesus at their own pace. If interested, please contact us!
