Koinonia John the Baptist Ireland is a community of friends within the Catholic Church.

Looking at us you'd wonder what exactly would make us want to share our lives together in community. We come from different ages, backgrounds and ways of life. Some of us are from the city, others from the country. Some of us are consecrated and others are married. Some young and others young in spirit. We are a diverse bunch.

Yet, we are brothers and sisters in community because one key experience, an experience that we want you to experience as well. Each one of us have had a very real, personal experience of the Risen Jesus in our lives. He has changed us, renewed us and transformed us. Like the Psalms say: "He turned my wailing into dancing; he removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy". He empowers us with His Spirit and has drawn us all together into Christian community. We're far from perfect and that is what makes this walking with Jesus in Christian community such a joyful adventure.

We hope you enjoy the information and material on this site. However, our deepest desire is that you have the same life-changing experience of transforming love as we have had. As you explore the photos of our community life, and read and listen to the stories of some of our members we pray for an open heart. We hope to see you at some of the events you see advertised here and in your locality. We have weekly "Houses of Prayer", led by our members. The open their home and welcome guest to come, pray, have a 'cuppa' and enjoy the craic that happens when we gather together.

We also invite you to send us your prayer requests. We are a praying community and prayers and intercession are offered each day. If you feel the need to pray one-to-one with someone please let us know. We are more than happy to meet and walk with you on your journey with Jesus and your family in the Body of Christ.

But above all we hope that you meet Jesus. If you've never done it before, ask Jesus in to your life. Pray "Lord Jesus I need you, come and save me". Let him take the steering wheel. Let today be the first day of the rest of your life, a life full of promise and a life full of friendship.

If you have any questions, or if you'd like to know more about our community you'll find our contact details on the site.
