"Thus says the Lord God to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live." (Ezekiel 37:5)
The Lord has opened doors for Koinonia in the heart of South Belfast to bear witness to Jesus in a concrete way. In partnership with the Catholic Chaplaincy, we have the opportunity for door-to-door testimony, promoting the faith life of thousands of university students and giving witness to consecrated life and collaborative ministry.
Through this special partnership, we will also be able to mentor and form students who are currently involved with the Chaplaincy.
We're aware that this excludes those in the community who work. We welcome this as a great opportunity: Wednesday afternoon with the Chaplaincy is a foundation for evening outreach.
BUT, we need volunteers! There's a saying on job adverts "past experience would be useful but not essential". Don't let fear block you from experiencing the joy and blessing of leading people to an encounter with the Risen Jesus among students, refugees, and local family members.
You maybe have no clue what prayer walking is! That is not a problem at all! When we know how many volunteers we have, we will be organising an evening to prepare you for outreach in general, but outreach to students in particular.
Don't let fear stop you from experiencing the joy of this great opportunity! Here are Jesus' words for each one of us as we kick off this new ministry: "I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!’" (John 16:33)
