Rest in Peace Eileen

“Jesus answered, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” (Lk 23:43)

On Sunday 31st July, Eileen said goodbye to her earthly home and went home to our heavenly Father.

Eileen has been with us since the community began here in Ireland. She has journeyed with us as we have grown in the spirituality of Koinonia and taken shape here in Ireland. She loved the community and was so faithful to her brothers and sisters in it. We'll always remember the day that she consecrated the final years of her life to the Lord in 2012 - a sign of her loving devotion to Jesus her Saviour and Lord.

It's never easy to say goodbye. We pray for her family and friends as they come to terms with losing their family member. We thank the Lord for the many memories we have of her, and for her friendship and prayers over the years. Eileen was a woman of hope, and Christian hope is a certain hope. As we say goodbye to Eileen, we give her over to her heavenly Father, and to Jesus who she loved so deeply on this earth. In our saying goodbye we say to Eileen to enjoy the heavenly banquet, the wedding-feast of the Lamb that has been promised to her.

We say our final slán abhaile and slán go fóill to her Wednesday at 10am in her beloved St. Oliver Plunkett's Church in Lenadoon.

The photos above show only a glimpse of Eileen's faithfulness, loyalty and compassion. She has left her fingerprints on our community and will be remembered.

God rest you Eileen, our sister and friend.

It is with great sadness on my part that my friend Eileen has gone to her eternal rest. I know she is at peace with our Lord Jesus singing and praising God as she did on earth. She was an inspirational and much loved member of our Agapito and will be sorely missed. Eileen showed me Jesus every time we met.

I will miss Eileen. She loved her family and her friends in Koinonia. They were her pride and joy. Eileen traveled to many outreaches with the community and she volunteered to be part of the welcoming committee. She met everyone with her special smile and put everyone at their ease. On one occasion she spoke to a group of parishioners and what she said was amazing and life giving. She was a very special person. I’m so glad I met her at one of our Jesus Heals lately with her son Noel. At rest with her Father.

Eileen was a strong witness to the risen Lord. We had great fun and joy in Dublin doing the Moses course. Joe laughed at us doing the dynamic of Moses going across the sea. We used pots and spoons to bang dressed up in sheets and tea towels covering r heads. This was in Dublin – lovely memory. There l would always bump into her in Asda we would talk that much karan would have shopping done. We still b talking always about Jesus. l thank THE LORD FOR R FRENDSHIP. TRUELY MY SISTER IN CHRIST. A GIFT FROM THE LORD. EILEEN JESUS HAS UR CROWN OF GLORY FOR U. MUST BEEN A GREAT WELCOME FROM JOE AN R KIONIONA FAMILY IN HEAVEN. LOVE TO U ALL. PRAY FOR US XXX

Bye, my dear friend Eileen, from the Paradise, you will do a lot of good for us all. Now that you see Jesus face to face pray for us. I’m sure of your intercession because I experienced your generosity here on Earth when you welcomed me in your home. I always remember your love! Thank you Eileen, see you in heaven! Fr. Adriano
