Koinonia John the Baptist Ireland is a community of friends, belonging to the Catholic Church. We are part of an international federation of communities present in 24 nations throughout the world.
The community consists of people who have experienced Jesus in their lives in a personal way: single and married people, as well as consecrated sisters and brothers (some of whom are also priests) who live in community full time.
Every community in the Church receives a distinct call or charism. When Saint John Paul II invited the Church to a ‘New Evangelisation’ in 1983 Koinonia heard their call.
Our mission is to be at the service of the New Evangelisation. We do this in many ways,
We hold weekly Houses of Prayer and monthly Jesus Heals meetings throughout the Diocese. We meet in small community groups for fellowship and once a month we meet as a whole community for prayer. We also run a School of Evangelisation which delivers formation programmes in parishes.
